Modern Road Maps

2003 AOT 1985 AOT USGS Topo N. Cartographic.

Modern road maps are needed to study old roads because they provide context and today's road names. They also are more accurate than the old maps.

The most detailed maps of each town are the state State Agency of Transportation (AOT) Maps.
The ca. 2003 maps assign a number to each road section, categorizes the section, and provides the length.   A table in the margin supplies more details.  Unfortunately these maps stop right at the town line, and they give little detail other than roads.  The 1985 maps - still available from the same agency - show more detail - especially house locations.
